Zurich Tournament: The Memory

Congratulations to the lads for winning the Zurich Tournament.

The performance from the Zurich A team was absolutely fantastic.

Conor returning to his home position of full forward along with the magical Damian and powerful Valerio
A speedy gonzales Mitch supported by the ever running Kevin Frawley and brave Shuk with his broken thumb
A nice brotherly combination in midfield with the Lally brothers controlling things
a very skillfull Eoghan and a fast, tantrum & hurley throwing Billy in the half backs
the honey batcher Franz, bloody battered Brian and Terry the Buzzsaw in the full back keeping it tight in front of the
lightning reflex Timo.
This great combination of different characters brought the Zurich Cup back after 5 years.

Special mention to the B team for taking part in the tournament.

Zurich B team entered the tournament with a mixed team of old and new.
Well done to German Dan, Helios, Diarmaid, Andrew Tuite and Mick for playing their first tournament with Zurich.
Great to see players like John White and Gerry McEvoy making their comebacks.
Johnnie Hynes reprising his role of John MuIlane
Arjan the flying Dutchman
Claude coming back after a long stay down under.
And Patrick getting back into the groove after the Hague tournament.
It was great to see the improvment of all the new players as the day went on.

The Camogie team entered the tournament with Angie missing from the full forward line
superb catching Eva, brave newcomer Coca, ever fighting Anja and delicate touch Erin
with the help of battling Rebecca and omnipresent Claire in midfiled
backed up by versatile Vera and attack destroying Angelika
with the final line of defence, the shot stopping Evigna
did the Zurich Camogie team and Club proud.
Well done to the girls for reaching the finals.
The team played together really well and the improvement since the start of the season is absolutly fantastic.

Special mention to Karl, Andrew Norris and Trevor for the moral support to the teams on the sideline.

Thank you to everyone who played in the tournament and also the great support of friends and family.

Thanks to Shukri and Mick for coming to the tournament and then rushing back into Paddys later to make sure we had a fab evening there.
Special thanks to Paddys for hosting the dinner and night out.
The food was absolutely amazing and there was so much of it we rolled home. The beer helped to make the night unforgetable or forgetable for some of us =)

Big thanks to everyone who helped with the organisation beforehand, on the day and with cleaning up....It meant we could all enjoy the night from the start
